How to find your Steam ID
Where to find your SteamID64 and custom URL in the Steam client, the website and the mobile app, and what the different Steam ID formats mean.
Updated October 30, 2026
Your Steam ID is the number that identifies your Steam account. It never changes, even when you change your profile name or custom URL, which is why trading sites, game servers and tools like Rep4Rep ask for it. Here's how to find it in under a minute.
The quickest way: your account details
- Sign in on
store.steampowered.com(or open the Store in the Steam app). - Click your account name at the top right and choose Account details.
- Your Steam ID is shown right under your account name. It's a 17-digit number starting with
7656119: that's your SteamID64.
From your profile link
- Open your Steam profile: click your name at the top of Steam and choose Profile.
- Look at the link in the address bar. In the Steam app, turn it on in Settings → Interface → Display web address bars when available, or right-click the page and choose Copy Page URL.
- If the link looks like
steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197960287930, the number at the end is your SteamID64. - If it looks like
steamcommunity.com/id/yourname, you've set a custom URL. Paste the whole link into our Steam ID Finder to get the number behind it.
Finding someone else's Steam ID
Open their profile, copy the link the same way, and paste it into the Steam ID Finder. It works with profile links, custom URLs and every Steam ID format.
The different Steam ID formats
The same account number can be written in several ways. They all point to the same account, and you can switch between them with the Steam ID Converter.
- SteamID64 (
76561197960287930): the 17-digit number used by most websites and the Steam Web API. - SteamID (
STEAM_1:0:11101, orSTEAM_0:0:11101in some games): the older format, still used on many game servers. - SteamID3 (
[U:1:22202]): used by newer Source games and the Steam console. - Account ID (
22202): the short version, shown on Dota 2 and CS2 match sites.
Is it safe to share my Steam ID?
Yes. Your Steam ID is public: anyone who can see your profile can see it. It can't be used to sign in to your account. Never share your password, Steam Guard codes or your Steam Web API key, though, and be careful with sites that ask you to "sign in through Steam" on a page that isn't steamcommunity.com.
